Palmerston Sports Complex
The Northern Territory Government will develop a new international standard sports complex at Palmerston, to be co-located with the Charles Darwin University Complex.
The $29 million Palmerston Sports Complex will deliver new sporting infrastructure for the sports of football, tennis, soccer and rugby.
Stage 1
- New ‘Magpies’ Football Oval with Training Lights
- New Grandstand
- New Club Rooms
- New Training Oval
Works expected to commence in 2010-2011
Stage 2
- 12 new Tennis Courts, including 1 new Tennis Show Court with raised seating
- New Tennis Club House
Works expected to commence in 2011-2012
Stage 3
- New Rugby / Soccer Field
- New associated Grandstand
Works expected to commence in 2011-2012
A multi-purpose hall will be considered for the site in future years.

Consultation with the Sporting Sector
The Northern Territory Government will build the Palmerston Sports Complex in close consultation with the sporting organisations who will benefit from the development of these first class sporting facilities.
Conceptual plans have been released highlighting the location of the facilities to be built at the complex.
The Territory Government will liaise with the relevant sporting organisations to develop the detailed design layout of each component of the facility, ensuring that their needs are met.
