Program Overview
The Northern Territory Institute of Sport (NTIS) Rugby League program provides a high performance training environment for Northern Territory Rugby League players aged from 15 to 19 years old. The program’s primary goals are to have athletes secure National Rugby League (NRL) club contracts, to gain selection into the Australian schoolboys team, to gain selection into the AIS Rugby League program or gain selection into the Combined Affiliated States (CAS) team to play in the Australian U18 Schoolboy Championships (Pool A).
The program exposes the Territory’s developing athletes to NRL club scouts looking to recruit players into the NRL junior to senior ranks. It is also designed to introduce these athletes to the demands and expectations required to achieve at the highest level of the game.
