* Note: Protection of Fish is primarily a function of the Fisheries Act and Regulations. Consequently, the Classification of Wildlife under the Territory Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act does not include fish species. The current review of threatened species in the Northern Territory was advised by an expert review panel that included a member from Fisheries (Department of Resources) and another fish expert. The proposed changes outlined above will be made to the Classification of Fish, which is used by Fisheries as one basis for protection of fish species in the Northern Territory.
