About the Café
The Leanyer Recreation Park Café was built by local company ISIS Group Australia Pty Ltd, with the $843,000 tender awarded by the Territory Government in October 2011.
Construction commenced in November 2011 and was completed in April 2012. Construction created 30 new jobs for Territorians. The development included the replacement of the existing seating area to create a new dining area adjacent to the kiosk. The café now has capacity for 104 people, including 30 in an enclosed and air conditioned area and the remainder in an alfresco seating concept.
The project also included the installation of a new commercial kitchen with capacity to cater for functions up to 300 people. The kitchen includes a cold store and freezer room.
The Café also caters for special events, birthday parties and for events held outside the venue.
