Limmen National Park and Limmen Bight Marine Park
Public comment on the proposed declaration of Limmen National Park and Limmen Bight Marine Park, located approximately 305 km southeast of Katherine and 76 km northwest of Borroloola, closed on Friday, 18 May 2012.
Over 60 submissions were received during the consultation period. All submissions and feedback will be considered in the assessment of the park declaration.
Reports below specify the natural, recreational and tourism, commercial and historical values of each area, while taking into account the Indigenous interest in the areas.
National Parks that connect oceans to the land are special and world class. The Territory Government is working towards recognising the value of this area by proposing the declaration of Limmen National Park and Limmen Bight Marine Park.
