The Casuarina Coastal Reserve Advisory Committee

The Casuarina Coastal Reserve Advisory Committee has now been formed and comprises a broad mix of local Territorians.

The Committee will advise the Parks and Wildlife Service on a new plan of management outlining the future direction of the Reserve and the development of visitor facilities and services.
The Advisory Committee will work towards establishing a ‘Friends of Casuarina’ group to support the future direction of the Reserve.

The public members of the Committee are Darrell Higgins (Chair), John Bailey, Graham Brown, Peter Caust, Phil Colbert, Dave Crick, Troy Devine, Michael Douglas, Louise Finch, Dominic Giblin, Samuel Hyson, Gerry McCue, Meg O’Brien, Drew Shugg and Paul Whittaker.

Selected representatives include Helen Gould (Surf Life Saving Club), Lauren Moss (Youth), Fiona Ray (Darwin City Council), Bill Risk (Larrakia), Paul Cawood (Parks and Wildlife Service) and Maria Wauchope (Parks and Wildlife Service).

The Advisory Committee will meet a minimum of four times a year however the Committee will meet more frequently during the early phases of developing the plan of management and the future direction of the Reserve.

The Casuarina Coastal Reserve Advisory Committee with support from the Parks and Wildlife Service would like to hear from the community about their ideas for the future direction of the Reserve.  How do you think the Reserve could be improved, what works well and what would you like to see retained or removed.  The information you provide will assist in the development of a new Plan of Management to help guide the future of the Reserve.
