What are Environment Protection Licences and Approvals and why are they needed?

Environment Protection Licences and Approvals are issued pursuant to Part 5 of the Waste Management and Pollution Control Act. Licences will be used to address ongoing environmental issues associated with the operation of a facility linked to a licensable activity. Approvals will be used to ensure that environmental management has been appropriately factored into the design and construction of a facility linked to a licensable activity.
